Chapter 172: The Guardian Needs Hope, and Nott Has No Hope
Chapter 172: The Guardian Needs Hope, and Nott Has No Hope
In this well-tended garden, various flowers are blooming in colorful colors and exuding a faint fragrance. The sunlight shines through the treetops and sprinkles on the ground, forming mottled light and shadows, adding a natural warmth to it.
In a corner of the garden, there is a small fountain. The water droplets sparkle in the sun and make a pleasant gurgling sound. Vaguely, you can see four girls playing and having fun sitting on the bench under the fountain.
"Ok, what books did you get?" Shiblank, who was also the host of the book club, was holding an ancient and mysterious book in his hand and looked at the other three people in confusion.
"Anne of the Green Wall, I like this book very much." Rosa carefully pushed the colorful story collection in her hand to her friends and told stories about it.
After Rosa finished her story, the three of them all looked at Chloe in unison. Her head was swaying from side to side, and she was about to fall asleep. A flying broom was leaning against the wall behind her, and it fell to the ground with a clatter as she leaned back.
"Huh? What's wrong?" Chloe suddenly woke up, sat up straight, and asked with wide eyes. But Leah and the other two who witnessed Chloe's actions had already burst into laughter, and Shiblank even teased her without hesitation.
"Chloe, it looks like the story you're about to share is in your dream."
"What are you talking about?" Chloe coughed awkwardly a few times, then pulled out a thick book from under her butt.
"The Magical Quidditch Ball"
Well, it really fits Chloe’s personality!
"It's your turn, Leah."
Leah was stunned for a moment, then smiled shyly. She opened her bag and took out two books.
"A Guide to Defensive Spells?!" Xiblanque was so shocked that she couldn't close her mouth. She stared at Leah with dissatisfaction and then complained, "Why are you so boring... Leah?"
"It's not this one. I just think there's a spell that I can learn faster with your company, so I brought this book." Leah said as she slowly pulled out another book, which was a magical legend about the history of magic.
"Oh, Leah, you are so sweet." Chloe's face wrinkled, she covered her chest with her hands, and twisted her body excitedly.
Seeing Chloe's exaggerated movements, the other three couldn't help laughing. They looked at each other and laughed heartily.
The sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves and fell onto Leah and the other three. The atmosphere was beautiful and gentle, casting a layer of golden glow on their carefree smiling faces.
……
"Hey! What are you two doing?"
After finishing their snacks, the four people were now standing on the green lawn. Siblanc curled his lips speechlessly, staring at Chloe who was rushing forward and ready to go, and sighed helplessly.
"Hurry, hurry, hurry up, let's compete to see who can fly faster!" Chloe jumped excitedly, casually swung the broom in her hand a few times and clamped it between her legs.
"Uh..." Rosa's gaze stayed on Leah, who was quietly packing books in the corner. She coughed lightly from time to time, and her thin back looked pitiful.
"Let's learn spells with Leah!" Rosa and Siblanc looked at each other, and they ran to the corner to release Leah, causing Chloe, who was standing there ready to take off, to scratch her head in embarrassment. When her eyes met Leah, Chloe suddenly realized.
"Leah, what was that spell you just said?"
"Yeah, what spell needs our company to cast? We can learn it together." Chloe jumped onto Xiblanque's back, pressing her so hard that she couldn't speak. She could only pinch and scratch Chloe's arm angrily.
"Hmm..." Leah didn't expect her friends to gather around her. She felt inexplicably touched and her eyes sparkled with light.
"It's Expecto Patronus. When you cast it, you need to recall the most beautiful and happiest moments in your life. If you succeed, you will get your own Patronus."
"Oh sweetheart, do you regard us as your happiest and most beautiful moments?" Rosa's eyes were instantly warmed, and she couldn't help but reach out and hold Leah in her arms, hugging her intimately.
"This spell sounds really interesting. I want to learn it too!" Chloe raised her hands and spoke excitedly.
"I also want to know what kind of noble creature my patronus is." Xiblanque twirled her hair with her fingertips and raised her chin with a proud expression.
"Hehe, okay!" Leah smiled with satisfaction from the bottom of her heart, opened the book in her hand, and showed the spell of Exopatria to her friends.
"Ex...Expect Patr...um!"
"No, Chloe, it's Expecto Patronum!" Hearing Chloe's missing spell characters, Siblanc couldn't help but interrupt and correct her.
"It seems that you are very skilled. You can try it." Chloe could not stand being corrected or criticized. Her expression was wrinkled and she looked very awkward.
"Ahem... Expecto Patronum!" After a very fluent spell ended, Siblanc looked confidently at the tip of the wand, but no light reaction appeared.
"Hahaha, you're still talking about me!" Chloe laughed out loud at Shiblanc's confident look, and Shiblanc was so angry that he raised his wand and hit Chloe on the head.
"Shut up, you."
"This spell is indeed difficult. Not only does one have to slow down the tone of voice when reciting the spell, but one also has to work hard to arouse the happy and beautiful memories in one's heart and condense them into magical power... Many wizards cannot even find their own patronus in their entire lives..."
Leah and Rosa pulled the two people who were about to fight apart and patiently explained to Chloe and Shiblanc.
"So cool! Then my success is inevitable!" Chloe shook her hair confidently, raised her eyebrows proudly, and a strange light emanated from her eyes.
"Arrogant!" Siblanc snorted and turned his head away, not wanting to look at Chloe's arrogant look.
"Hey, look, is there a person standing there!" Rosa's eyes inadvertently passed the back door of the villa, and through the lush flowers, she could vaguely see a thin boy standing in the retro archway.
"Is that... Theodore Nott?" Leah narrowed her eyes slightly, folded her hands into two circles in front of her eyes and looked at him carefully, and soon recognized the person's identity.
"Nott? The one who doesn't like to talk to people?" Chloe tried hard to recall the two people around Malfoy from her memory and spoke uncertainly.
"What is he doing here?"
"It should be Mr. Nott who came to discuss something with my father. You know, Mr. Nott is an extreme pure-blood. He is always trying to resurrect the mysterious man. My father is also very annoyed with him." Shiblank frowned in disgust and waved his hand casually, intending to take his friends to a farther place.
"Are you learning Patronus?" But Theodore Nott walked up to him with unusual tactlessness to start a conversation. Siblanc and Leah looked at each other, not knowing what to say.
"Yes, is there any problem?" Chloe spoke first, standing in front of her friend, her tone directed towards Theodore Nott.
Nott raised his eyebrows in surprise, as if he had not expected these girls to be so wary of him, and shook his head helplessly.
"It's okay. This spell is very powerful, keep going." Theodore's slightly stiff voice came to an abrupt end. His expression was stiff and cold, as if someone owed him 100 gold galleons.
If his father had not ordered him to flatter and ease the relationship with Xiblanque so as to make it easier for Mr. Rozier to accept his father's proposal for cooperation, he would not have come to disturb him so tactlessly.
Theodore Nott murmured and complained in his heart, but did not show it on his face.
"Nott, do you want to try it? The Patronus." Leah saw Theodore Nott's embarrassment and helplessness, and spoke to ease the atmosphere.
"That's right, you are so smart, you will definitely succeed!" Rosa remembered that Theodore was the top Slytherin and praised him subconsciously.
"No need." Theodore's face seemed to be even uglier. He pursed his lips and his eyelids drooped. "I will never be able to cast the Patronus Charm. It requires hope, and Nott..."
"Theodore!" A stern and cold voice came from inside the house. Theodore's body suddenly froze in place, his expression panicked, and the next second he turned around and ran away.
