Chapter 1465 The Frog That Doesn't Hibernate
Chapter 1465 The Frog That Doesn't Hibernate
Mingxu was playing with Xiaokui, while Xiaobai wandered around nearby.
Suddenly, the frog jumped up from Shin-chan's head and onto Hiroshi's head. Hiroshi was startled and reached out to grab it, but the frog immediately jumped away. When Hiroshi tried to catch it, the frog started jumping around the house.
Shin-chan and Hiroshi immediately started chasing after the frog.
"This kid is quite energetic!"
"Hey kid, don't run away!"
Misae peeked out and saw this scene, somewhat displeased: "Arrest him quickly!"
"Don't run away!" Shin-chan hurriedly chased after the frog as it suddenly jumped behind the counter.
Looking behind the counter, he immediately shook his head: "Huh, it's full of dust inside."
Hearing this, Misae walked over in an annoyed tone: "I'm so sorry it wasn't cleaned thoroughly! Move aside, move aside, let Mommy use her beautiful and delicate hands!" As she spoke, Misae reached in to look for the frog.
Then his eyes lit up: "Great, got him!"
"Don't crush it with brute force, okay?" Hiroshi and Shin-chan said instinctively, seeing the excitement on Misae's face.
"But if the frog is over here, what did Mom catch?" Mingxu suddenly pointed at the frog playing with Xiaokui and looked uncertainly towards Meiya.
"Huh?" Misae was startled, grabbed the thing in her hand, and her eyes widened immediately: "Ah! Daddy's stinky socks!" As she spoke, Misae subconsciously threw them, the socks flying straight up and about to hit her face when Mingxu picked up a small toy from the side and threw it at the socks, knocking them away. Misae breathed a sigh of relief, thank goodness.
However, upon seeing her hands, Misae hurriedly ran to wash them, repeatedly lathering them with soap.
Looking at Misae's expression, Hiroshi's lips twitched: "...Isn't that a bit much?"
After the frog emerged, Shin-chan put it on his head again. Watching the frog croak, Hiroshi asked curiously, "Oh? Which spot do you like?"
"What should I do? I can't wear a helmet like this, so I can't go to kindergarten." Shin-chan looked at the frog on his head, his face full of helplessness.
Misae finally finished washing her hands and came out. Looking at Shin-chan, she heard what he had just said and her face darkened immediately: "Why does Mom have to ride a bicycle to take you to kindergarten? Isn't it enough to just catch the school bus?"
Misae is exasperated by Shin-chan's ever-increasing tricks for staying in bed. Even Asahi can't wake him up anymore.
Mingxu slapped Xiaoxin on the back of the head, sending the frog flying. Mingxu caught it and put it back.
"Seriously, can't you stop sleeping in?"
"Oh well, there's nothing I can do about it," Shin-chan waved his hand dismissively.
However, rubbing his belly, Hiroshi looked at Misae with a hint of helplessness: "Forget about the frogs for now, where's my dinner?"
"Ah..." Misae suddenly realized something and was about to get up when Shin-chan grabbed her again: "Forget about Daddy's dinner, what about the frog food?"
"Ah, right." Misae suddenly realized as well.
Hiroshi's lips twitched: I'm in line after the frog...
After Misae brought some food to Hiroshi, Akira came over with a small plate containing some thin strips of meat.
"Is it okay to use raw meat?" Mingxu looked at him uncertainly.
"It should be barely enough." Hiroshi took the frog and tried to feed it, but the frog didn't move. Shin-chan also reached out to try, but the frog still didn't move.
"Not eating?" Mingxu scratched his head. There probably weren't any bugs around now.
"Doesn't it eat the cheap meat that's on sale for a limited time?" Shin-chan was thinking about something else.
"What's wrong with meat on a limited-time sale?!" Misae glared at Shin-chan.
Hiroshi then started searching on his phone and suddenly exclaimed, "I found that pet stores sell frog food! I'll go buy it tomorrow!"
"Hmm, sigh~ raising a frog adds extra expenses." Misae said with a sigh.
But never mind, frogs can't eat that much anyway.
Seeing the little ones playing with the frog, smiles appeared on their faces.
Nothing happened that night. The next day, looking at the frog on Shin-chan's head, they were somewhat emotional: "We've gotten used to this kind of scene."
"By the way, have you named it yet?" Misae looked at Shin-chan curiously, after all, this frog seemed to like Shin-chan more.
"Because he's a little sleepyhead who came here half asleep, we call him Jumping Taro!" Shin-chan chuckled.
"...It has absolutely nothing to do with each other."
"The cause and effect don't match. It's just that its movements match." Mingxu also complained to Xiaoxin.
However, Shin-chan had to go to school later, so he left the frog at home.
At kindergarten, Shin-chan told the other kids about the frog, and they all became curious. After school, they went to the Nohara family's house to see the frog that hadn't hibernated.
"It's really rare to see a frog that doesn't hibernate."
"I really want to see Jump Taro soon."
"I'm so nervous~"
After arriving at the Nohara family's house, they knocked on the door and were invited inside by Mingxu with a smile. Shin-chan was playing with Takutaro, and when they saw the little ones coming over, they happily joined in.
After playing there for a while, they left.
However, the next day, when Shin-chan saw the empty basket, his expression froze.
"Gone."
Shin-chan frantically searched the house, calling out repeatedly, "Jiktarō, Jiiktarō, where have you been?" Misae, hearing the commotion, came out of the kitchen and asked, "What's wrong, Shin-chan? What happened?"
Shin-chan said anxiously, "Mom, Taro is gone. Did it run away?" Misae comforted him, "Don't worry, let's look carefully again. Maybe it's hiding in some corner."
So the family began a thorough search of the house, checking under the sofa, behind the cabinets, under the table, leaving no possible place unchecked. But after searching for a long time, they still couldn't find any trace of Taro.
Shin-chan said somewhat dejectedly, "Did Taro think our family was no good, so he ran away?"
Mingxu patted Shin-chan on the shoulder and said, "No, it's probably just that Takuya was playing and ran off to play. Let's go out and look for him."
So the family went back to the yard and searched carefully in the grass and by the flower beds. Suddenly, Shiro called out to a small hole in the corner of the yard. Shin-chan's eyes lit up and he rushed over, squatted down and looked into the hole. He exclaimed in surprise, "Jumpy Taro is here!" As Shin-chan was about to pull Jumpy Taro out, Mingxu stopped him.
"Don't be like that. Since Taro chose this place, it means he has found a suitable place to sleep. When the weather gets warmer, you can continue to play with him."
"Yes, it was too tired and fell asleep," Misae comforted her.
"Yeah. Don't worry." Hiroshi patted Shin-chan on the head and comforted him.
"Mmm." Mingxu turned around and hugged Xiaoxin. Mingxu saw the tears welling up in Xiaoxin's eyes.
"Will we meet again?" Xiaoxin nestled in Mingxu's arms.
"Yes, it will." Mingxu gently patted Xiaoxin's back to comfort him.
"Uh-huh."
In his dream at night, Shin-chan dreamed that Taro and the others were playing happily in the spring.
Parting is an emotion that is difficult to describe. Everyone has this feeling, just like the older sister and the little animals that Shin-chan once met.
