Chapter 61 Su Wan Substitutes for Students
Chapter 61 Su Wan Substitutes for Students
Only after the suffocating sense of oppression completely disappeared did the four of them pick up their utensils again and continue their breakfast, which was still in turmoil.
Sato Ichiro couldn't help but lower his voice and look at Lin Feng, asking:
"Lin Fengjun, just now... how did you come up with that method?"
Lin Feng did not answer immediately, but simply tilted his head slightly and gestured towards the portrait of Zhuangzi on the opposite wall.
"It was a hint given by the great Zhuangzi."
Sato Ichiro, Vassim, and Apler immediately looked in that direction.
(The language and writing barriers in the ghost story world have been removed, and they can all clearly understand the meaning of that line of ancient text.)
"The spirit flows everywhere, reaching all directions..." Vassim murmured, a hint of realization appearing on his resolute face.
Sato Ichiro stared for a long time, his face gradually revealing a mixture of shock and admiration. He looked at Lin Feng and sighed sincerely:
"To be able to capture and decipher such subtle clues under those circumstances... truly a master!"
Just then, the cell phones in the pockets of all four men vibrated briefly at the same time.
Lin Feng quickly took out his phone and unlocked the screen.
[25 Psychology Freshman Group (Mute Activated)]
Administrator Su Wan posted a group announcement:
[Students, your first class at the Elite School is about to begin. Please remember the following classroom rules.]
Rule 1: Please arrive at the classroom 5 minutes in advance. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter and will be marked as "absent".
[Rule 2: Please ensure your textbook is complete and clean. If you find any missing pages or stains that cannot be erased, please immediately obtain a spare page from the podium before class to replace it.]
[Rule 3: If you notice the words in your textbook are moving, please immediately ask to go to the restroom to wash your eyes.]
[Rule 4: When the teacher asks a question, you must stand up to answer, and your answer must be at least 100 words long.]
Rule 5: When class ends, the teacher will say "get out of class dismissed." You may leave only after you hear this.
[Rule 6: Homework assigned by the teacher must be completed on time; otherwise, 5 credits will be deducted.]
Sato Ichiro stared at his phone screen, letting out a sigh of relief: "This godforsaken place... it's all rules everywhere, never a moment's peace!"
"This is the most troublesome part," Aple said, pointing to rule number six, her face pale. "Not submitting assignments on time results in a direct deduction of 5 credits!"
"Do you remember the first rule of the Academy?"
"The initial credits are 10 points... Once the credits reach zero, they will be permanently deleted." He
"This means that if I fail to hand in my assignment on time twice... twice, I'm doomed..."
Wasim frowned: "Now we can only pray that the assignment isn't too unconventional."
Lin Feng quickly glanced at the time at the top of his phone screen—7:42.
"The class starts at 8 a.m., so we have to be there five minutes early, which means before 7:55 a.m.," he calmly calculated. "We have 13 minutes left."
"It normally takes about seven or eight minutes to walk from the cafeteria to the School of Social Sciences teaching building, which seems like plenty of time. But in this strange campus, no one can guarantee that an accident won't happen on the way."
Wasim jumped up from his seat: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's get going!"
The four of them immediately took action, picked up their plates, and quickly carried them to the recycling area.
He then called over the other chosen ones from the same major and quickly left the cafeteria.
The group continued walking and arrived at the School of Social Sciences building at 7:50 a.m.
Seeing the dove on the withered sycamore tree next to the college building, Lin Feng conveyed his message that he needed the dove's help to keep an eye out for any orange cats nearby.
The dove tilted its head in response.
"What are you looking at?" Vassim followed his gaze and saw only bare tree branches.
"It's nothing." Lin Feng withdrew his gaze, his tone calm. "Let's go, it's time to face that mirror."
As the group entered the dimly lit academy hall, the "Adjusting Attire" mirror stood before them once again, like a silent guardian.
[Academy Rule 2: Upon entering the academy each day, you must tidy your appearance in front of the "Standard Attire" mirror in the lobby and maintain a smile for at least thirty seconds.]
Having learned from yesterday's experience, the twelve people were divided into three groups and took turns standing in front of the mirror.
Everyone forced a standard smile, while secretly focusing all their attention on the strange sensation of their toes digging into the soles of their shoes, trying to lessen the psychological impact that "smile" might have.
The process was still filled with psychological discomfort and a sense of disconnect, but fortunately, no one was seriously injured and no one showed any visible abnormalities.
After completing this daily "ritual," they quickly went up to the second floor and found classroom 204.
A familiar figure stood quietly at the classroom door—the counselor, Su Wan.
She changed her outfit today, no longer wearing yesterday's business suit, but instead a champagne pink silk shirt paired with off-white high-waisted straight-leg trousers.
The shirt was bulging high at the chest, and the cuffs were casually rolled up a few times, revealing slender wrists and an exquisite brown leather watch.
It has less of the formality of a suit and more of a casual elegance, showing both competence and gentle charm.
"Good morning, students." Su Wan's voice rang out calmly as her gaze swept over the twelve faces in front of her.
My gaze lingered for a moment longer on the face of the person whose nasolabial folds were more pronounced.
"Hello, Instructor Su!" everyone said in unison.
Su Wan nodded. Just as everyone thought she was only conducting a routine inspection and was about to leave, Su Wan took a small step forward and whispered something in a voice that only Lin Feng, Wasim, and a few others near the door could hear:
"Standing up to speak is sometimes... not necessarily a sign of respect, but rather it might make you the most conspicuous target."
This seemingly random statement left everyone who heard it completely bewildered.
Lin Feng immediately thought of classroom rule number 4—
When the teacher asks a question, you must stand up to answer, and your answer must be at least 100 words long.
Could it be that Su Wan is implying that classroom rule 4 is wrong, and that students cannot stand up when answering questions?
As soon as she finished speaking, Su Wan resumed her normal volume, as if the whisper from before had been nothing more than their hallucination:
"Hurry up and get into the classroom, get ready for class."
She stepped aside to make way for all the students before walking in herself and heading straight for the podium.
"Students," she said, taking her step and glancing at the students, "the original instructor for this 'Introduction to Abnormal Cognition' course has some urgent matters to attend to, so I will be temporarily filling in for the class."
A murmur of barely suppressed surprise immediately rose from the audience.
"Is the academic advisor substituting for you?"
"Isn't she in an administrative position? How can she teach classes?"
"But... it's better to have someone from our own school teaching than a complete stranger, right? It should be much safer, right?"
Many people showed expressions of relief, and their tense nerves relaxed a little.
However, Lin Feng's furrowed brows remained unchanged.
He doesn't think so.
In a place where rules reign supreme, a change of identity does not guarantee safety.
When a teaching assistant substitutes for a class, she is merely fulfilling her "duty," but once the class begins, the "classroom rules" will operate independently like a sophisticated and ruthless machine.
Su Wan on the podium will no longer represent a counselor who might offer reminders, but rather the ruthless enforcer of the rules themselves.
The danger is not diminished in the slightest by the substitute teacher's status...
