Chapter 939: Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Chapter 939: Actions Speak Louder Than Words
"But quantum mechanics isn’t within their scope of study, even if she couldn’t solve the problems you set, it’s understandable." Teacher Sutton earnestly defended Summer Monroe.
Mio Osborne raised an eyebrow and said, "Since it’s not within the school’s scope, how could she solve the problems on the test paper?"
"I..." Teacher Sutton was stumped, momentarily unsure of what to say.
He had no choice but to seek help from the principal: "Principal..."
However, Principal Payne nodded slightly and said, "Then we’ll proceed this way. This is also the only way to prove that she truly didn’t cheat. If she could solve the quantum mechanics problems on the test paper, then the problems Professor Osborne sets, she should be able to solve as well."
Mio Osborne was secretly pleased and looked at Teacher Sutton, "Teacher Sutton, could you have any objections since Principal Payne has said such?"
Teacher Sutton bit his lip and said, "I have no objections, but the difficulty level of the questions set must not be higher than those on the test paper."
"Don’t worry about that, I’ll manage it well."
"In that case, let’s proceed this way."
Teacher Sutton decided not to say anything further; facts speak louder than arguments.
Principal Payne spoke up, "Since you both have no objections, this matter is decided. Professor Osborne, please return to your teaching as you’ve already delayed a lot of class time. Teacher Sutton, you have no classes in the morning, so please post the grade sheets on the bulletin board."
Teacher Sutton nodded and hesitantly asked, "What about Summer Monroe’s grades?"
"Post them first, as the grade sheets are only displayed for a day. Otherwise, if it’s proven that she indeed achieved first place on her own ability, then wouldn’t she lose the opportunity to showcase it? Our school’s philosophy is to highlight and unearth the best in our students."
"Yes, I understand." Teacher Sutton nodded, bumping Mio Osborne’s shoulder as he left the monitoring room.
Mio Osborne frowned, rubbing his shoulder, unable to help but say to the principal, "Principal, don’t you feel Teacher Sutton seems a bit too favorably disposed toward Summer Monroe?"
Principal Payne’s face turned cold as he looked at Mio Osborne and said, "My feelings align with Teacher Sutton’s. If Summer Monroe truly relied on her abilities to achieve perfect scores in four subjects, such a student is a boon to Crestfall University, and she indeed deserves additional attention. Whereas you, I find your prejudices toward Summer Monroe a bit excessive. I hope you can adjust yourself."
Mio Osborne bit his lip, feeling somewhat frustrated over his earlier slip of the tongue.
He chose not to say more, uttering, "I’ll head back to class," and promptly left.
The security personnel in the monitoring room remained bewildered.
"Principal, what exactly happened?"
Principal Payne shook his head and said, "Nothing major, just keep working."
The security personnel scratched his head, looking cluelessly at the group of hurriedly arriving and departing people.
...
Elsewhere, Willow Grant noticed Mio Osborne was over halfway into the class period, just about to search for Mio Osborne as class president, when Mio Osborne happened to step into the classroom.
Upon entering, he instinctively looked at Summer Monroe’s seat, and noticed the often-absent Summer Monroe had indeed come today, though she was lying on the desk asleep, she was at least present.
He pursed his lips, and an indescribable emotion sprouted within him again.
He forced himself not to think about Claire Woodward’s matter and walked into the classroom irritably, "Apologies, I was having a meeting with the principal in the principal’s office, which delayed some time. Now, I’d like to inform everyone of something."
