The Wedding on the 123rd Night
The Wedding on the 123rd Night
Finally, night fell. Ye Ling's feelings were quite complicated, a mixture of fear, apprehension, and excitement. This was an unknown journey, something she had never done before, and she didn't know how to express her feelings.
Ye Ling extinguished her candles just like the other residents in the town, but unlike them, she used her divine sense to observe everything happening outside.
As soon as it got dark, strange things began to happen. The entire town was suddenly enveloped in a black mist, and even the moon in the sky could not be seen.
Ye Ling tried to use her divine sense to investigate, but it was as if there was an obstruction that prevented her from seeing what was inside.
Ye Ling had no choice but to move a chair and sit near the window. She then poked a small hole in the window and secretly observed the outside world.
After a long time, the black mist suddenly changed.
A little girl ran out from inside. She was wearing a white dress, had long black hair, and was holding a lantern that illuminated the way ahead.
She walked and sang, her voice melodious but sounding very sad, making people feel uneasy.
"Moon, moon, don't sleep, come with me to the wedding."
Where are the bride and groom? I want to go see them.
Seeing this, Ye Ling thought for a moment, took out a Fu Lu (福禄) from her space, recited a few incantations, and then the Fu Lu turned into a small paper figure. The paper figure moved and was quite cute.
Ye Ling said to it, "Stop fooling around, go and follow her!"
Then they released the paper figure through the crack in the window, and the little paper figure quickly followed the little girl.
Ye Ling moved from her seat to the couch, casually activated the protective array of the room, closed her eyes, and entered a meditative state. In fact, she wanted to establish a mental connection with the paper figure and transmit the images it saw into her brain.
The little girl walked through a street and then through an alley, finally arriving at a large house with red lanterns hanging at the door.
If you look closely, you'll see a large sign that reads "Cui Mansion".
She pushed open the door and went inside. The room was empty except for a table and two chairs placed in the center.
On the table were a wine glass and a wine bottle. The bottle was empty, but the glass contained blood.
The little girl was startled and turned to run away, but found that the door was already closed and she couldn't open it no matter what she did.
She heard footsteps approaching, and hid under the table, too afraid to make a sound.
Although the little paper figure didn't know what was going on, it quickly climbed up the pillar to the roof beam, lay down on the beam, and hid itself completely. After a while, it peeked out with a little bit of its head to see what was happening below.
The footsteps stopped at the door, which was then pushed open, and a man dressed in a red wedding robe walked in.
His face was pale, his eyes were empty and expressionless. He walked to the table, picked up a wine glass, and drank a mouthful of blood.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" the little girl asked.
“I am the groom, and I am here waiting for my bride,” the man replied.
"Where is your bride?" the little girl asked again.
“She’s right here,” the man said, pointing to a coffin next to the table.
At some point, a coffin appeared in the room.
The little girl screamed in fright. The coffin lid slowly opened, revealing a woman in a red wedding dress, pale-faced and not breathing.
Her eyes were wide open, staring at the little girl, and black blood was flowing from her mouth.
"How did she die?" the little girl asked.
“I killed her,” the man said.
"Why did you kill her?" the little girl asked.
“Because she doesn’t love me,” the man said.
"Do you love her?" the little girl asked.
“I love her,” the man said.
"Then why did you kill her?" the little girl asked.
“Because I love her,” the man said.
The little girl didn't understand what the man was saying. She thought the man was scary and wanted to leave, but she still couldn't open the door.
She looked at the man and the woman, feeling very sad, and didn't know what to do.
Suddenly, the man turned to look at the little girl. His eyes flashed red, sharp teeth grew from his mouth, and his hands turned into claws as he lunged at the little girl.
The little girl closed her eyes in fear, awaiting death, but she felt no pain; she only felt a gust of wind.
