Chapter 169 An Unconventional Apology (2)
Yan Zuozuo just stared at her, the melodious piano music floating in her ears. She wasn't a music connoisseur and didn't actually know what Chi Moqing was playing; she just thought it sounded beautiful.
Chi Moqing turned his head to look at her, a gentle smile on his face. Accompanied by the sound of the piano, a circle of heart-shaped electric candlelight suddenly lit up the originally dim room, surrounding the huge bed. The bed was covered with blue roses, arranged to form the word "Sorry," looking particularly enchanting and beautiful in the candlelight.
For a moment, Yan Zuozuo seemed to lose her voice, covering her mouth and staring at everything in disbelief.
Chi Moqing slowly walked over and hugged her from behind. His deep, sexy voice slowly rang out, "Wife, I always hurt you. I'm sorry. Maybe we will still stumble and fall in the future, but I will do my best to protect you."
Yan Zuozuo's eyes were filled with tears, the candlelight illuminating her gentle face. How could this man be so wicked? Even an apology made her cry; he was so cruel. She suddenly turned around and threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly.
Chi Moqing still wore a faint smile, his gentle eyes filled with tenderness. He held her close and spoke softly, "Wife, you've never danced with me before. I wonder if I have the honor of inviting my beautiful wife to dance with me tonight?"
Yan Zuozuo was already in tears, but with a happy smile on her face, she nodded, "I'm very willing, but only if you're not worried about me stepping on your foot."
Chi Moqing chuckled and bent down in a gentlemanly gesture of invitation. Yan Zuozuo placed her hand in his palm, and the two embraced, swaying leisurely through the room.
Chi Moqing held her as carefully as if she were a fragile piece of glass, afraid to use too much force for fear of hurting her. He looked down at her, his eyes gentle and warm.
The graceful candlelight flickered, and soothing music filled the dimly lit room. Yan Zuozuo looked up, her eyes filled with shyness and deep affection as she gazed at Chi Moqing.
As if tempted, Chi Moqing gently kissed her lips, sometimes lightly, sometimes like a dragonfly skimming the water, sometimes like a blazing fire. Their lips moved back and forth, tender and affectionate.
"Wife, have you forgiven me?" he asked in a low voice.
Yan Zuozuo pouted, "It's not your fault... But I really like it when you apologize to me from time to time." Her voice was very soft, as if she was afraid of disturbing the little stars sleeping outside the window.
"You are my wife, protecting you is my duty, and it's my fault if you get hurt. Although some injuries are unavoidable, I will do my best to protect you. I will bear all the pain and sadness; you just need to be happy."
Yan Zuozuo just stared at him, sobbing uncontrollably. When did this man become so sweet-talking? She was finding it increasingly difficult to resist. The emotion she felt was indescribable.
Chi Moqing looked down at her teary-eyed appearance, as cute as a little red-eyed rabbit. He couldn't help but smile, his soft lips touching her forehead as he said in a low, deep voice, "Wife, I love you."
Yan Zuozuo's lips trembled slightly, and her pink lips parted slightly, "I love you too, husband."
Outside the villa, a car was parked on the road. The person in the driver's seat stared intently at their window. The room was dimly lit with scattered, faint light. Although one couldn't see what was inside, the ambiguous light made it hard not to guess.
He Xinrui... or rather, He Xinrui with a different face, just watched quietly, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly, a strange smile on her face, "Yan Zuozuo, we meet again."
The car sped away, leaving a long shadow, and the once warm night suddenly turned grotesque.
Early in the morning, while Yan Zuozuo was still asleep, she heard Chi Moqing's phone ring. It was his assistant calling. Chi Moqing quickly silenced the phone, affectionately kissed Yan Zuozuo's forehead, tucked her in, and then went outside.
"What's up?" he asked as he took eggs and sausages from the refrigerator to prepare breakfast.
"President, the new secretary will be reporting for duty today. What do you think of Miss Biao?" the assistant asked hesitantly.
Mentioning his cousin, whom his mother had forced upon him to be his secretary, gave Chi Moqing a headache. This cousin was incompetent, always arrogant and unrealistic, and all she did when she made a mistake was act cute. If it happened once or twice, he could let it go, but if it continued like this, he felt he was going crazy. He had no choice but to hire someone new. As for her, he could just put her in any position he wanted, as long as she wasn't around to annoy him.
Yan Zuozuo was awakened by the aroma of food; before she even opened her eyes, her stomach began to rumble in protest. After washing up and getting dressed, she headed to the kitchen. Sure enough, she heard President Chi bustling about in the kitchen.
She leaned against the doorframe, admiring her husband's elegant and handsome appearance. Everyone says men are most charming when they're working, but she thought he was most attractive when he was cooking; watching him was mesmerizing.
Chi Moqing turned off the stove, turned around and smiled at her, "You're awake, time to have breakfast."
Yan Zuozuo walked over and hugged her tightly, then lazily nestled in his arms, feeling incredibly happy.
Chi Moqing patted her head affectionately: "Want to act cute?"
Yan Zuozuo nodded almost imperceptibly in his arms: "Chi Moqing, I want to be your daughter in my next life, I'm sure I'll be very happy."
"That won't do. I've already reserved you as my wife for my next life, or even the life after that. It'll be a bit difficult for you to be my daughter," Chi Moqing said with a soft laugh as he held her.
Yan Zuozuo pouted: "So, you're planning to have a few more lovers in your life?"
"Nonsense!" Chi Moqing pinched her rosy cheeks. "I can't even handle having you as my little lover, how could I possibly have the energy to find a few more?"
"Hmph, that's hard to say. After all, you're such a charming CEO," Yan Zuozuo joked.
"If my wife is really looking forward to it, taking a concubine isn't out of the question," Chi Moqing said jokingly, feigning seriousness.
"Ugh, I knew it, Chi Moqing, you..."
Before Yan Zuozuo could finish speaking, Chi Moqing lowered his head and kissed her delicate lips. He had originally intended to give his wife a little lesson, but the moment he touched her red lips, he was completely captivated—sweet, soft, and alluring…
He held her tightly, and Yan Zuozuo struggled to break free. She was quickly captivated by her, and her soft body nestled in his arms, responding and demanding involuntarily.
"Mmm..." A soft voice flowed from Yan Zuozuo's throat, and Chi Moqing's body stiffened, feeling as if a fire was burning inside him. If he didn't restrain himself, he would not only miss breakfast, but he would also be late for work.
He reluctantly pulled away from her lips, took a deep breath, and said in a hoarse voice, suppressing his longing, "You eat first, I'm going to take a shower."
Yan Zuozuo hadn't yet recovered from the passion of the moment, watching Chi Moqing flee in a disheveled state, panting heavily. After a long while, she finally calmed her breathing, narrowed her eyes, and suddenly realized why President Chi had chosen to take a shower at this time.
She bit her lip, feeling both annoyed and amused.
When Chi Moqing came out of the shower, Yan Zuozuo had already started eating breakfast, her eyes holding a half-smile as she looked at him. She had originally thought that he would be shy and embarrassed, but to her surprise, he remained calm and composed, as if he hadn't done anything shameful.
Yan Zuozuo admired his shamelessness and wanted to tease him, but she felt shy and bit her lip without saying anything.
Chi Moqing, on the other hand, calmly ate her breakfast while saying, "I've cleaned everything up, don't worry."
"Pfft!" Yan Zuozuo spat it out, looking at him with a mournful expression. President Chi, your integrity, your integrity! Are you worried that you haven't been shy enough?
Chi Moqing saw the accusing look in her eyes and a sly glint in them. He knew she was easily embarrassed, so he deliberately teased her.
Yan Zuozuo, don't look at this big hooligan.
Just then, the doorbell rang. Yan Zuozuo and Chi Moqing exchanged a glance, then got up to open the door. Chi Moqing squeezed her hand and said, "You go eat, I'll go."
Not long after, a pleasant and alluring voice came from inside, “President Chi, hello, I am your new secretary Park Sun-hee.”
Yan Zuozuo, who was eating, was stunned. Chi Moqing had changed his secretary again?
Unable to resist her curiosity, she went over to take a look, only to hear Chi Moqing's displeased voice, "Who let you into my house?"
“It’s a secretary’s duty. I’ll wait for President Chi outside. I can report to you on the way, saving time.” Park Sun-hee spoke respectfully, acting like a perfect secretary.
"Leave now. My secretary doesn't need to be at home!" Chi Moqing said firmly.
"I won't go inside; I'll wait for the president outside," Park Sun-hee insisted.
Chi Moqing narrowed his eyes, a hint of displeasure flashing in them.
