Chapter 36: Even a hero can be brought down by a penny; Military prototype.
Chapter 36: Even a hero can be brought down by a penny; Military prototype.
A penny stumps the hero.
This statement applies to any corner of the Milky Way.
With insufficient credits, the Extraordinary Squad had no choice but to sell valuable items from their spaceship.
For them, as soldiers, their most valuable possessions were their weapons.
Clearing King looked reluctantly at the molten bomb in the hunter's hand.
This is his favorite.
"Can we not sell it? This is the last one."
The hunter stuffed the molten bomb into his backpack and glanced at him sideways:
"It's also the only thing we have that's valuable."
"You don't want to go hungry, do you?"
Upon hearing about food, the Clearing King immediately gave in.
Compared to frying something, filling my stomach is more important.
The hunter slung his backpack over his shoulder and left the repair shop with Echo and Omega.
Omega's face was filled with excitement. He glanced back at Lance and immediately followed the hunter.
Let's get moving too.
Upon hearing this, King Qingzhang immediately lowered his head and shrugged, becoming listless.
The three arrived at the center of the spaceship, disassembled the outer shell, and exposed the complex and sophisticated internal components.
The technician adjusted his glasses and looked at the spacecraft's structural diagram displayed on the data instrument:
"The signature key is embedded below the rear parallax inverter."
"To retrieve it, all the outer components must first be removed."
The Obstacle Clearing King impatiently stretched his shoulders a few times:
"I wouldn't understand even if you explained it to me, just tell me which part to remove."
Lance, equally unaware of this, silently nodded in agreement.
The technician pointed to the stabilizer inside:
"Take it apart first."
The obstacle clearing king immediately stepped forward, grabbed the metal support with both hands, and exerted force.
The heavy parts slowly loosened.
Lance grabbed the mounting bracket and helped disassemble it.
A few seconds later, the two of them simultaneously lifted out the heavy metal part.
The technician looked away from the data instrument screen and at the mounting bracket on the ground, pausing slightly in surprise.
This stabilizer weighs at least 200 kilograms.
Lance, however, didn't even dodge a breath.
The technician adjusted his glasses:
"Your power..."
Lance himself was somewhat surprised, as he had not used the Force, only his physical strength.
He recalled that since awakening his memories of his past life, both his body and mind seemed to be slowly improving.
After he freed himself from his inner constraints, he felt his improvement speed increased even further.
Lance clenched his fist and said calmly:
"I exercise quite a lot regularly."
The obstacle clearing king beside him patted his shoulder, a hint of approval flashing in his eyes:
"A real man should possess great strength."
As he spoke, he raised his arm and gestured with his muscular biceps.
Lance pushed his dirty hand off his shoulder, but still left a dark handprint on his clothes.
He rolled his eyes and said irritably:
"Let's get back to work."
Under the technician's guidance, the two disassembled the spaceship components one by one.
Gradually, the Clearing King also noticed that something was wrong.
It seems... Lance's strength is no less than his.
How is that possible?
I am an enhanced clone whose muscles and bones have been strengthened.
"Hmph, this is just the beginning."
King Qingzhang muttered to himself.
During the subsequent disassembly process, he clearly began to put on a show of resistance.
When moving energy pipelines, he insisted on carrying them first.
When disassembling the shock absorber, he deliberately sped up the process.
Lance sensed that the King of Clearance was secretly vying for power and couldn't help but shake his head slightly.
He wouldn't join this childish competition...
His hands moved a little faster without him even realizing it.
Half an hour later.
The Clearing King's forehead was already sweating.
Lance, however, remained calm and composed.
An hour later.
King Qingzhang, panting heavily, sat down to rest.
Lance continued to disassemble various parts from inside the spaceship at a leisurely pace.
A hint of surprise flashed in the technician's eyes.
"Are all Jedi this physically strong?"
"Or is it that the Force can greatly enhance physical fitness?"
King Qingzhang looked at Lance with a complicated expression.
Seven parts dissatisfaction, three parts admiration.
"I'm just not full."
"I'm full, so I can work all day."
......
Hunter, Echo, and Omega strolled slowly through the bustling streets, appearing no different from ordinary citizens.
Even so, the hunter remained vigilant, his eyes constantly scanning his surroundings.
There were just too many pedestrians on the street, and he didn't notice that a figure was following them from a distance.
Omega followed closely beside the hunter, but her attention was already drawn to everything around her.
The pedestrians on the street were dressed in all sorts of clothes.
The neon signs of the shops on both sides flashed incessantly, displaying a dazzling array of colors.
The stalls were filled with oddly shaped fruits, snacks, and exquisite ornaments.
Everything was new and exciting to her.
This was the first time she had truly seen the outside world.
It's completely different from Camino.
There are only unchanging white buildings, an endless ocean, and countless storms.
It felt as oppressive as a giant cage.
But the world before us is so vibrant that it takes our breath away.
Omega opened his eyes wide, looking left and right, finding almost everything interesting.
The three walked along the street and unknowingly came to a wide square.
A squad of clone soldiers in white armor marched in unison through the crowd.
The surrounding crowd waved and cheered, their faces beaming with joy.
Omega, caught up in the atmosphere, couldn't help but look up and ask:
"What are they doing?"
The hunter spoke calmly:
"Celebrating the end of the war."
Echo noticed the holographic projection playing continuously in the center of the square.
At the same time, a familiar yet annoying voice came to my ear:
"...Chaincode registration...Republic Credits to Imperial Credits...All free..."
The hunter frowned, stroking his chin as he said:
"The world is changing faster than I imagined."
He withdrew his gaze and looked at the two of them:
"Hurry up and buy the supplies, then leave this place."
The three of them quickly turned into a relatively quiet street and came to a grocery store.
The shop owner is a Glenn.
He had a long, goat-like face, a pair of small horns on his forehead, and three eye stalks protruding from his head, two of which were adorned with glasses.
The hunter took a molten bomb from his backpack and placed it on the counter:
"How many credits is this worth?"
The shopkeeper picked it up and examined it carefully for a while.
He shook his head:
"No, we won't accept it."
As he spoke, his gaze suddenly fell on Echo.
To be precise, it landed on his mechanical arm.
The boss's eyes immediately became shrewd:
"but......"
"If you're looking to buy something, I'd be interested in this robot."
Hui Sheng was taken aback, muttered under his breath, his tone revealing a hint of surprise and anger:
"robot?"
The hunter was also taken aback for a moment.
The next second, an idea suddenly popped into my head.
He turned to look at the echo, a slight smile playing on his lips:
"It was a military prototype."
The boss's eyes lit up immediately.
He stroked his chin thoughtfully for a moment, then held up two fingers:
"Two thousand credits."
The hunter feigned hesitation:
"Wait a minute."
After saying that, he left the counter and walked to Echo.
He put his arm around Echo's shoulder, turned his back to the counter, and began to discuss things in a low voice.
After hearing his plan, Echo's face immediately darkened.
"You want to sell me?"
The hunter lowered his voice:
"Fake."
"Once you've bought the supplies, you can just leave."
"Anyway, you're not a real robot, so you're not afraid of the restraint bolts."
Echo's lips twitched; he felt his dignity had been insulted.
But after the hunter's persistent persuasion, he finally sighed and reluctantly agreed to this despicable plan.
On the other side...
Omega was already drawn to the various trinkets at the booth.
She picked up a cute little doll and examined it closely.
Just then, a person appeared pulling a floating tray and stopped at the store entrance.
Inside the metal box at the rear, two strange creatures crouched, making barking sounds like little dogs.
Omega's eyes lit up, and she quickly stepped forward, curiously reaching out to touch one of them.
The creature immediately and affectionately licked her cheek.
Omega was caught off guard, and the toy in her hand was snatched away in one bite.
