Chapter 109 Island Vacation
Chapter 109 Island Vacation
Under the bright sunshine, there is a green parasol, a deck chair, a small table, and an angry man.
"Wuhu~"
"Severus, come join us! Surfing is so much fun!!"
"roll."
Severus lay drowsy in the sunlight, the ubiquitous magic runes keeping the temperature at a comfortable level, but he was still quite unhappy about being threatened with a day off or not being able to use the plantation's products.
He dares to control me now when we don't even have any relationship. What if I lose my mind one day and agree to this little rascal's request? Wouldn't I be able to climb all over him?
So, without Emeric's knowledge, his sweetheart granted him another suspended sentence, the length of which was unknown and depended entirely on Severus's conscience.
"Severus, really don't you want to give it a try? It's a lot of fun, I'll teach you~" Emeric walked towards him, draped in a towel and carrying a surfboard, the sunlight shining on his fair skin.
The man, blinded by the light, squinted. He declined the activity that would obviously put him at a disadvantage, and, somewhat curious about what had happened to the two, turned slightly to Emeric. "How are Regulus and that cat lady doing?"
"I don't know. The letter hasn't arrived yet. He should be awake by now, right? Otherwise, considering Sirius sends three letters a day, it's impossible that we haven't seen the owl yet."
They fled overnight with their luggage because Sirius was so annoying; he wasn't even afraid of Severus's anger. He kept an eye on Emerick in the morning and on Severus in the afternoon, constantly asking why Regulus hadn't woken up yet.
"Severus, would you like some coconut? The coconuts on that tree look nice, I'll go pick some. How about we make coconut chicken soup and coconut rice for lunch, and coconut milk jelly for afternoon snacks?"
"Can."
When it comes to food, Severus has never liked to offer opinions, not only because Emeric cooks only what he likes to eat, but also because no one will force him to eat what he doesn't like.
Although he called him a little bastard all day long, Emeric never forced him to agree to anything. He was reluctant to admit it, but basically, the little bastard's threats only worked with his tacit approval.
"Try it! I caught quite a few crabs; we'll steam them later."
A coconut with its opening already opened was handed to Severus, with a small paper umbrella and a green straw placed on it for decoration, and a plate of sliced watermelon placed on the small table next to it.
"Let's go sea fishing by boat this afternoon. I brought a boat and fishing rods. We can steam what we catch and eat it tonight, what do you think?"
"Not good. Has Mr. Emerick forgotten his letter of apology? Today is the last day. All you think about is food. I really don't know if you were assigned to the wrong house. You should be in Hufflepuff."
Severus picked up the coconut, took a sip, and slowly uttered these words. He didn't want to bask in the hot sun; he could have used that time to brew a bottle of teeth-strengthening potion.
"Can't you really give me two more days? I promise I'll finish it within three days of school starting, after school starts."
"What do you think?" A deep, elegant voice coldly rejected Emeric. Severus was quite pleased to see his pitiful pleading expression.
Satisfied with his sudden morbid curiosity, the man leisurely ate his fruit, waiting for Emeric to plead a couple more times before agreeing. Emeric, of course, was aware of Severus's little quirk and was happy to oblige.
"Severus, please, I'll make spicy crab tonight, okay? Whatever you order these next few days, I'll make it, I promise I won't argue!!!"
Emeric rarely allowed him to eat spicy food, but even in the magical world, a stomach injury can only be slowly healed. However, Severus just happened to like spicy food.
"You said that?"
"I said it."
"Then give it to me after school starts." Unexpectedly, there was a pleasant surprise, and Severus was no longer angry. He began to look forward to the spicy crab for dinner tonight. He had been restricted to eating strong-flavored dishes only once a week, and now that he was finally free, he wanted to eat as much as he wanted.
Emeric stood behind him, secretly chuckling. Severus was so adorable; a little coaxing and he'd give in. Luckily, it was him; anyone else would have been bullied. You could only say that's what love-struck people are like—they can even see a great white shark as a pink dolphin.
"You go sea fishing, I'm going to take a nap. We're having spicy seafood for dinner."
"Okay, let me see what I can catch."
Seeing that Severus had closed his eyes and was about to fall asleep, Emeric adjusted the parasol before leaving.
It's said that the seafood in this area is exceptionally delicious, large, plump, and unpolluted; otherwise, this island wouldn't have nearly emptied his savings. Last time he saw Severus hadn't had enough, he simply brought people here to eat the freshest seafood, the kind they wanted to catch right away.
He took a small boat from his storage items and floated it about 20 kilometers from the shore before waving his wand to stop it.
Not long after, they caught a bunch of small seafood, a mixed bag of all sorts, just enough for Severus to try a little of everything without getting too full.
By the time he returned to shore, almost two hours had passed, and the man was still asleep on the deck chair. He faced a group of students every day at school, but now, on this vast beach, with no one else around, anyone could sleep soundly.
After putting all the ingredients into the kitchen to keep them from spitting out the sand, Emeric moved another recliner over and lay down next to Severus. Soon after, he also fell into a deep sleep.
The two slept until five in the afternoon before waking up. Emeric turned to look at Severus, both of them bearing marks on their faces.
"I'll go cook. Severus, wake up! You won't be able to sleep tonight if you keep sleeping."
After giving a brief instruction, Emeric returned to the villa to start cooking, while Severus leisurely walked into the kitchen to kindly answer Emeric's questions.
"I'm here to supervise. What if you only put in a tiny bit of chili? I need it spicy."
Under Severus's supervision, dinner tonight was all red, with each dish covered in chili pepper skins, but the peppers were only red to look at; they only tasted slightly spicy.
Severus buried himself in his food, having not eaten spicy food since he had spent two days straight in the studio and suffered from stomach pain from hunger.
While he was busy eating the octopus, Emeric had already peeled a small dish of shrimp and handed it to Severus. Then he started peeling crabs, putting the meat and roe inside the shells and placing them on the man's plate.
