Chapter 595 - 596: Two Physiques [Third Release, Please Subscribe]
The Monk Dao Feng entered the small grove with a look of utter despair. He was anxious, unsure of what fate awaited him. He certainly didn’t believe Wu Tian truly had the ability to guide him in the Martial Path.
"You’re a talent," Wu Tian said, glancing at Dao Feng. "Your madness is a virtue, a very good one."
"You chose me because I’m mad?" Hearing this, the terrified Monk Dao Feng nearly fainted. He immediately blurted out, "I’ll change! Can’t I change?"
The phrase ’small grove’ was synonymous with evil. Monk Dao Feng certainly didn’t want to lose his chastity there, especially not to a man.
"Can you stop your wild fantasies?" Wu Tian glanced lazily at Dao Feng. "If you keep this up, I’ll call over a big yellow dog to violate you and then kill you, then violate you again and kill you again! Now, for serious matters. The skill I am about to impart to you also comes from a mad monk."
"A legacy from a mad monk?"
Dao Feng was immediately unnerved.
What could possibly be so impressive about a legacy from a mad monk? Dao Feng had always believed he wasn’t truly mad. It was simply a case of ’the world calls me mad, but I see what they cannot.’ He didn’t want to learn some mad monk’s legacy and end up truly insane. He had a secret task that he was sworn to complete. Since he was currently powerless and without opportunity, he could not afford to go mad under any circumstances.
Just as Dao Feng was about to refuse, he heard Wu Tian say lazily, "Your parents were murdered, your family business was stolen, and even your newlywed wife threw herself into your enemy’s arms!"
"You... you..." Hearing this, Dao Feng staggered back as if he’d seen a ghost in broad daylight, his eyes filled with utter astonishment. How could Wu Tian know? How could he possibly know?
"Are you wondering how I know?" Wu Tian chuckled. His eyes seemed to shimmer with a Divine Light that could pierce a person’s heart. "Never mind that. I even know that when you were seven years old, you spied on the neighbor, Widow Wang..."
"STOP, STOP, STOP!" Dao Feng quickly interrupted.
He’d almost forgotten about that incident himself. How could Wu Tian know? Could this Sect Leader truly be an unparalleled master?
"Sect Leader, please bestow upon me a Divine Technique!"
At this thought, Dao Feng’s mind cleared of all wild fantasies. His knees went weak, and he knelt on the ground.
He had always indulged in wild fantasies to divert his attention. Otherwise, drowning in hatred day after day, he would have truly gone mad. Now, he decided to clear his head, because he felt he had finally met a genuine master. In the presence of such an expert, how could he have time for wild thoughts? He had to learn as much as he possibly could.
"Right now, the most crucial thing for you is not the cultivation of your body, but the cultivation of your mind," Wu Tian said, sizing up Dao Feng. "You must first understand this saying: ’Meat and wine may pass through the gut, but the Buddha remains seated in the heart.’ Alright, you may leave now. Call in the sisters Lan Niang and Hong Ji. And remember, don’t speak nonsense."
"Yes." Dao Feng nodded earnestly. Without another word, he began to ponder the meaning of the phrase as he walked out.
At the edge of the small grove, Lan Niang and Hong Ji stared anxiously.
The moment Dao Feng emerged, the two sisters rushed up to him and asked in unison, "What did he do to you?"
"I..." Just as he was about to speak, Dao Feng stopped himself, remembering Wu Tian’s instruction not to speak nonsense.
Having finally met a master, Dao Feng was naturally extremely cautious. What counted as ’speaking nonsense’? And what didn’t? Dao Feng had no idea.
So, he chose to say nothing at all and simply walked away.
Lan Niang and Hong Ji were stunned into silence.
Hong Ji said, "Sister, he used to be such a chatterbox, and now he’s completely silent."
Lan Niang nodded, guessing, "He must have suffered some kind of unspeakable trauma in there."
Hong Ji and Lan Niang stood there, their bodies trembling.
"Aren’t you coming in? What are you waiting for?"
From inside the grove, Wu Tian’s voice rang out, loud and clear.
Hong Ji and Lan Niang clenched their teeth. It was a case of being damned if they did and damned if they didn’t. They had no choice but to go in.
Upon entering, they saw Wu Tian.
"I... I think I should go wash up some more," Hong Ji said, her face flushing.
"Wash up for what?" Wu Tian gave Hong Ji a look.
"I shouldn’t?" Hong Ji was stunned, then said helplessly, "Well, you’re our master. Whatever you wish."
"What nonsense are you two talking about?" Wu Tian shot the sisters a look. "I called you in to examine your physiques and figure out how to awaken them."
"Physique?"
Hong Ji and Lan Niang exchanged a glance, their brows furrowing slightly. "Do we need to take off our clothes?"
Wu Tian was speechless.
The truth was, the two women’s physiques were exceptionally unique—they were bizarre constitutions. Lan Niang’s physique was known as Fire in Water, while Hong Ji’s was actually Ice in Fire. This meant each woman possessed two opposing constitutions that repelled each other so strongly they were in a state of mutual destruction, nearly canceling each other out completely. This was why no one else had ever been able to discern their true physiques.
"One of you," Wu Tian said slowly, "has a hot constitution. You feel especially warm during the summer, but find water unbearably cold. The other has a cold constitution, yet eating even slightly warm food makes you feel excessively hot."
"You... how did you know?" Lan Niang was taken aback.
Hong Ji was equally shocked. After her initial surprise, she grew nervous. "Master, did you take an interest in us sisters a long time ago and have us investigated?"
"Heh, you think an investigation would reveal this?" Wu Tian scoffed.
Lan Niang and Hong Ji were taken aback. As orphans, they had never wanted anyone’s pity or sympathy, so they had always kept their conditions a complete secret. And yet, Wu Tian knew? The thought was unbelievable to them.
At the same time, they exchanged a glance and asked, "Is... is this what you mean by a ’physique’?"
"Yes," Wu Tian nodded. "Once awakened, your cultivation will advance by leaps and bounds."
Knowing they had misunderstood Wu Tian, the sisters felt a wave of shame, but it was quickly replaced by a surge of excited hope. "How can we awaken them?" Hong Ji asked.
"Yes, please tell us!" Lan Niang added eagerly.
"To awaken your physiques, we need two items. Don’t worry, I will find them for you," Wu Tian said.
"Yes. Thank you, Master," Lan Niang and Hong Ji replied, nodding quickly.
Hopping and skipping, Si’er made her way back to the palace, only to have the misfortune of running into her own brother, Yulang.
"Little sister, why are you so happy? Come, tell your big brother," Yulang said with a smile as he approached.
"Hmph!" Now that Si’er knew the truth, she had no desire to waste words on Yulang. She simply turned to leave.
Yulang stood frozen in embarrassment, his eyes growing cold. "How dare she ignore me? What is going on?" he demanded.
A man dressed in black suddenly leaped out and bowed. "We’ve heard that the little Princess has grown close to Wu Tian recently," he reported. "Perhaps she has been influenced by him."
