Chapter 817. Massacre 1
Chapter 817. Massacre 1
Venzula Empire.
Chrysanthemum City.
Royal Palace.
In a large room.
Several individuals were seated across a table watching the stream.
"This Kailen Darkhaven shouldn’t have survived for this long. Now he’s too troublesome to deal with," someone said.
"That arrogant crown prince... his pride really caused us a headache" another person added.
"Let’s hope that assassins from the BlackHall Assassin Syndicate in the Meridian Oceanic Empire can get rid of Kailen Darkhaven."
"Indeed. If he does not die here, he will be troublesome in the war."

"It seems this place is safer than the other places." A tall elf with an arrogant bearing scanned his surroundings.
This person was Chandler Valeria, first ranked on the Imperial Fate rankings of the Andromis Imperium Empire Academy.
He noticed the corpses of five chaotic beasts floating across the place.
"Someone dangerous must have been here," he thought.
Anyone who could have killed these creatures must be quite terrifying.
"I need to be careful."
He scanned the place again. But there were signs of no one in the vicinity.
On noticing a large meteorite, he melded with the void, appeared on the meteorite and sat on it.
"I should prioritize survival over everything else. Let’s hope other participants don’t find this place. If they do, I’ll have to get rid of them before they even have the chance to try anything. Assuming no one will attack me is too much of a risk to take," he decided as he covertly sat on the meteorite.
A few light years away from Chandler Valeria’s location, Kailen was still seated on the moon.
He felt some spatial fluctuations several light years away from where he was.
"Someone is in this vicinity. Someone with the principle of space," he said.
A glint flashed through his eyes. Kailen’s principle of space was activated since he was scanning the area for any unforeseen threats.
"According to the research I did on Isolde, she has the principle of darkness. So it can’t be her," Kailen mused. "As long as whoever is in the vicinity stays out of my way, there’s no need to attack. Survival comes first. No need to rush into any battle for any reason. He’s bound to identify me soon because I also have the principle of space. Let’s see the outcome before deciding anything."
A glint flashed through Chandler’s eyes as he looked towards a particular direction.
"Someone with the principle of space is nearby. They have definitely noticed me. I need to eliminate them before they try to attack me."
He melded with the void and disappeared.
The audience observed at the edge of their seats. Kailen Darkhaven, first ranked on the Heavenly Fate rankings of the Venzula Empire and Chandler Valeria were about to clash.
Those watching from the Andromis Imperium Empire were equally confident in Chandler’s abilities.
The same applied for those watching from the Venzula Empire.
In fact, Julian was even placing large bets on Kailen at the moment on an online betting platform, opened for the competition. He was so glad Kailen was causing commotion everywhere.
Dawnseer, Lotus, Dexter were also watching from their respective residences.
They were equally confident in Kailen’s abilities. This was why they had decided to take the side of the academy when the war began. Kailen had to live. If Kailen died now, they would probably choose to flee the empire, leave everything they had worked for behind, and not get involved in the war.
Kailen was calmly seated on the moon. He didn’t move.
Someone popped out of the void.
Kailen looked at him calmly.
"It’s this guy?" Kailen thought.
The first ranked on the Imperial Fate rankings of the Andromis Imperium Empire.
He was the one in the vicinity with the principle of space?
"It’s you?" Chandler looked at Kailen Darkhaven.
Kailen simply ignored him.
Chandler added, "Sorry mate. Can’t leave you alive. Who knows when you’ll attack me. No hard feelings."
Kailen sighed.
So it had come to this, huh, he thought.
Chandler waved his hand. The void around him twisted and transformed into a large ethereal spatial bow with a spatial arrow nocked in the bowstring.
A glint flashed through his eyes as he stared at the person seated on the moon.
He released the spatial arrow from the bow. The arrow disappeared into the void. The void twisted and bent wherever it passed. Several stars in the vicinity melded and disappeared the moment it cleaved across them.
Kailen didn’t move.
The audience watched. Those at the rank 5 novice stage Transcendent level could not help but feel the weight of the attack headed towards Darkhaven, even from just watching it on a screen.
Yet... Kailen was seated calmly as the attack was headed towards him?
Kailen Darkhaven would surely die from this, those watching from the Andromis Imperium Empire thought.
The spatial arrow appeared before Kailen Darkhaven.
Kailen Darkhaven simply pointed his right index finger forward.
An ethereal hue appeared on his right index finger.
The terrifying spatial arrow stopped moving the moment it appeared and almost made contact with Darkhaven’s right index finger.
The void twisted and bended as the ethereal hue on Kailen’s index finger came into contact with the spatial arrow.
The spatial arrow seemed to suddenly liquify, like it was some sort of water, then it simply vanished from existence.
Kailen locked gazes with Chandler Valeria, who had a shocked expression in his eyes.
"Shit... who the hell is this guy?" A glint flashed through his eyes. He had to go all out.
A large spatial rod formed in Chandler’s hands. He brought the spatial staff down. The spatial staff came down on Kailen.
Kailen vanished before the staff came into contact with him.
He reappeared a few moments away from Chandler.
Chandler’s spatial staff dissipated.
Kailen was holding a spatial katana in his hand. It caused the void to twist and bend. Its edges flickered in the void like moving leaflets.
What had just happened?
What was the outcome?
The audience wanted to see what had happened.
Why had Chandler’s spatial principle staff disappeared?
The audience looked at Chandler Valeria.
He currently had pale lifeless eyes teeming with unacceptance. Did he just die?
Then, his head fell off of his neck.
The head floated in the void. The rest of the body floated along. Blood droplets spread across the void.
Then it occurred to everyone.
The moment Kailen Darkhaven disappeared from the moon and appeared behind Chandler Valeria, he had already used his spatial katana to hollow Chandler’s head from the rest of his body.
How...?
Even the audience from the Venzula Empire, extremely confident in Darkhaven’s strength, did not expect Kailen Darkhaven to end this battle so quickly.
Even Julian shook his head.
"I expected him to win... but this guy is seriously a monster."
Those watching from the Andromis Imperium Empire could not even speak.
The champion, the first ranked on the Imperial rankings of their empire Academy, unrivaled at the rank 5 novice stage Transcendent level, had been slain?
How was this possible?
This... it seemed they had been wrong about Kailen Darkhaven’s strength. To be able to kill Chandler Valeria meant that he was terrifying.
Even the Rector and the higher ups of the Andromis Imperium Empire Academy sighed.
A genius had fallen just like that.
Well... they simply accepted their loss.
No one dared to think about revenge. The five empire academies had signed a treaty concerning this after all. Deaths would not be avenged.
But Kailen Darkhaven was a terrifying junior, they had to admit.
As for Kailen, he was about to put the spatial katana away, when a glint flashed through his eyes. He looked in a particular direction.
"You all can come out."
