Rebirth: I Became a Maggot 2

Chapter 171 Does Heaven Really Exist?

Chapter 171 Does Heaven Really Exist?

I cried out in anguish, "If there really is a heaven and a hell, then why do good people not get good rewards, while bad people live so carefree lives? What is all this about?"

I have been unable to get over the grief of the snow rabbit's death for a long time. I am extremely sad and upset. Why is that?

I couldn't shake off the grief; I stared blankly at the snow hare's corpse, my mind completely blank. △

But what was bound to happen still happened. The only thing I can do now is hope to bury the snow rabbit properly, but I find that I can't even do that, because I can't, and neither can the other flies, because the rabbit is just too big for us to move, and we can't dig such a big hole.

"The best fate for animals is sky burial. Don't worry, don't worry, you can go on your journey in peace." This was the old national advisor's explanation to me.

As dawn broke, I realized it was time for us to set off; if we didn't leave soon, we might miss the last bus.

The journey must continue. After bidding farewell to the old national advisor, I took Dafu and hurriedly flew down the hillside where the car accident had occurred.

We are exhausted now, and we just hope that nothing else goes wrong. Fortunately, we made it in time. There were quite a few police cars and an ambulance.

Dafu and I immediately flew towards the ambulance, because it had several large characters written on it, indicating that it was the First Hospital of the city we were going to.

So we could hitch a ride to the city and then take the train. Without hesitation, I took Dafu and flew up.

Inside the ambulance, the old man was lying on a stretcher, his legs had been given some basic treatment, and the girl was crying beside him, I don’t know what she was crying about. He’s not dead yet, maybe she was crying because she was thinking, “Why aren’t you dead yet? How am I supposed to get the inheritance if you’re not dead?”

Of course, I'm just guessing; after all, who knows what other people are thinking? There was a nurse and a doctor nearby; one was comforting the girl, and the other was treating the old man's wound.

Basically, it wasn't anything to do with us; we were just riding in a car, so after checking that everything seemed fine, we...

We found a corner and settled down. We were so tired after working all night yesterday, and we barely had a moment to relax. We were basically under a lot of tension the whole time.

So now that we're safe, I'm incredibly tired. So after we got up here, Dafu and I immediately found a spot that felt safe and started to sleep.

I was so tired, and the pain from my previous injuries made me feel extremely uncomfortable, so I fell asleep as soon as I calmed down.

I was already incredibly sleepy, and the swaying of the vehicle was the perfect way to fall asleep. I slept so soundly that I stretched comfortably. It's already broad daylight now, and judging from the outside, it must be around noon.

"Dafu, wake up, we're here," I said to Dafu beside me.

"Have we arrived?" Dafu asked without even opening her eyes. Perhaps she was too tired from yesterday, or maybe she was even more heartbroken than me, since her only best friend had left her just yesterday.

"Yes, we've arrived, but I don't know where we are. However, we just need to go outside the station and look at the station's signposts to get to the train station," I explained.

"Okay, let's go then." Dafu stood up and said, perking up.

"Okay, let's go, we've finally arrived in the city." After saying that, I took off and flew towards the window.

We were so happy, and the weather was nice today with sunshine streaming in, so we flew towards the window to face the sunlight.

Tragically, we crashed headfirst into the transparent window, bounced back instantly, and landed on the stretcher.

Oh my god, how could I forget that we're in a car? When there's no one in the car, the windows are closed, and they're basically sealed off. How are we supposed to get out?

"Twenty-two cents! What happened? How did it bounce back?" Dafu cried out in pain, clearly not knowing what had happened.

I remember I used to see flies constantly hitting the glass and unable to get out.

Later, someone summarized our lives in one sentence: Our lives are like flies stuck on a windowpane, with bright light in front of us, but it just doesn't belong to us.

Dafu and I are in this situation right now. The sun is shining brightly outside, but we can't go out. I'm so worried! What should we do?

"Don't worry, I'm thinking of something." I looked around at the cardboard box, looking for a way out, even if it was just a small hole for ventilation.

But what really frustrated me was that there was no such place at all, and what was even more frustrating was that we were right behind an ambulance.

As is well known, an ambulance has a small emergency space in the back and the driver's cab in the front, and the only way to communicate between them is through a glass window.

Unfortunately, the window for communication is now closed, and I was thinking of going out through the air conditioning vent in front, but now I realize that's not an option.

There was absolutely no chance of getting out. What should we do? Should we just wait here? What if there's no emergency care for several days? Wouldn't we have to wait for many days?

I searched everywhere but couldn't find a way out. I was almost in tears. What kind of situation is this? I finally got into the city, only to be locked in an ambulance. Is this some kind of joke?

I was already in a hurry, and being in a closed space made the air inevitably stuffy and hot. Before long, I felt waves of heat washing over me, which was a sign that I was about to run out of oxygen.

Just when I was so anxious my head was about to explode, Dafu suddenly shouted urgently, "One mao er, help!"

I immediately looked towards where Dafu was, and what I saw almost made me jump up in anger. Dafu was actually inside a test tube! This isn't some kind of forensic ambulance, so why is there a test tube here? But somehow Dafu had somehow managed to put himself inside a test tube.

Holy crap, is this guy deliberately trying to cause trouble? How did he fall in there? Who would fall into that transparent glass tube that looks like a test tube unless they climbed in themselves?

I really want to go over there and drag that Dafu out and beat him up. He never lets me have a moment's peace. Not only does he not try to get out of here, but he also keeps causing trouble. It's infuriating!
