Chapter 129 Eagle
Chapter 129 Eagle
"Why are there birds chirping?"
Mr. Qu frowned slightly and glanced around sharply, as if looking for the source of the sound.
"Master, it might be the sound of birds chirping outside." Yan Canglan's heart tightened and he explained hurriedly.
Master Qu slowly stood up, walked to the window, opened it, and looked out. However, his eyes did not stay on the scenery outside the window, but stared at Yan Canglan.
"Yan Canglan, are you hiding something?" Master Qu asked in a serious tone, his eyes sharp.
Yan Canglan's heart trembled, and he hurriedly said: "Master, I did hear an unusual sound, but I don't know what it was. I will never hide it."
Master Qu was silent for a moment, then suddenly turned around and walked towards the incense table in the middle of the hall. He picked up the brush on the table and gently wrote a few words on the paper: "The sound of birds singing without sound must be something strange."
Yan Canglan watched Master Qu's every move and became more and more nervous.
"Master, what...what does this mean?" Yan Canglan asked cautiously.
Master Qu put down his brush, turned around, and looked at Yan Canglan sharply: "Yan Canglan, do you know what the rules are in the school?"
Yan Canglan's heart trembled, and he quickly replied: "Students know that in the classroom, we are not allowed to make noises, leave our seats without permission, or peek at others."
Master Qu nodded slightly and said, "Then do you know why there is such a rule?"
Yan Canglan pondered for a moment and replied, "I think this is to keep the classroom quiet so that students can concentrate on their studies."
Master Qu smiled slightly, revealing a hint of satisfaction in his expression: "Yes, that's right. But today, you violated the rules of the school."
Yan Canglan blushed and said hurriedly: "Master, I know I am wrong. Please punish me."
Master Qu did not punish Yan Canglan immediately, but continued to ask: "Yan Canglan, who do you think made this bird cry?"
Yan Canglan pondered for a moment, thought of something, and a trace of fear flashed in his eyes: "Master, could it be... could it be..."
Master Qu nodded slightly and said, "Yes, it is the person you guessed. This person is lurking in the school, trying to confuse people and disturb the peace of the school."
Yan Canglan suddenly became nervous. He knew that this matter was of great importance. He hurriedly asked, "Master, what should we do?"
A gleam of light flashed in Master Qu's eyes, and he said, "Yan Canglan, come with me."
As he spoke, Master Qu walked out of the school first, followed by Yan Canglan. The two came to the backyard of the school, where there was a small house, which was Master Qu's residence.
Master Qu opened the door, and Yan Canglan followed closely behind him. The room was simply furnished with only a desk and a few chairs. Master Qu walked to the desk and picked up a piece of paper with a bird drawn on it.
"Yan Canglan, what do you think this is?" asked Master Qu.
Yan Canglan took a closer look and found that the shape of the bird was very strange. It had the ferocity of an eagle and the gentleness of a pigeon.
"Master, what kind of bird is this?" Yan Canglan asked puzzledly.
Master Qu smiled and said, "This is a mysterious bird called the 'Spiritual Magpie'. It can predict the future and can also transmit information. I suspect that the bird's cry was caused by the Spiritual Magpie."
Yan Canglan suddenly realized that Master Qu had already guessed the mastermind behind the scenes. He hurriedly asked, "Master, how should we deal with this?"
Master Qu pondered for a moment and said, "Yan Canglan, you should immediately inform the other students in the academy and let them be vigilant. I will try to capture the magpie and reveal the true identity of the black hand behind the scenes."
Yan Canglan took the order and hurriedly left the hut to inform other students. Master Qu stayed in the hut to study the habits of the magpie and find a way to catch it.
……
"Yan Canglan, birds of prey cannot be kept! If they grow up, they will hurt people. Release them immediately." Master Qu ordered in a serious manner.
Yan Canglan pursed his lips tightly, his eyes flickering, obviously hesitant about Master Qu's order. He slowly raised his head, a hint of determination flashed in his eyes, but still with a bit of confusion and reluctance.
"Master Qu, I know you mean well, but I raised these birds of prey since they were young, and they have become my friends." Yan Canglan's voice was a little hoarse, but it revealed an unquestionable firmness.
Mr. Qu frowned slightly, with a hint of helplessness in his eyes. He patted the table lightly, motioning Yan Canglan to sit down.
“Yan Canglan, don’t you understand yet? Although these birds of prey are fierce, they are wild beasts after all, and their instincts cannot be changed. You raise them, but they will still regard you as an enemy and even attack you.” Master Qu said earnestly.
After Yan Canglan sat down, a complicated expression flashed across his face. He lowered his head and pondered for a while, then raised his head, with a hint of determination in his eyes.
"Master Qu, I understand your concerns, but I can't bear to exile them into the wild and leave them alone. I am willing to take the risk. After all, I raised them, and I believe they will not attack me." Yan Canglan's voice was firm and powerful.
Master Qu looked at Yan Canglan, with a hint of admiration in his eyes, but he still said seriously: "Your kindness is admirable, but you must know that the rules of the school cannot be violated. You must release them, otherwise you will face severe punishment."
Yan Canglan bit his lower lip, a trace of struggle flashed in his eyes. He knew the seriousness of the school rules, and he also knew that Master Qu was doing this for his own good. He took a deep breath, and then slowly stood up.
"Okay, I'll listen to you and let them go." Yan Canglan's voice was a little trembling, but his eyes were extremely firm.
Master Qu looked at Yan Canglan, with a hint of relief in his eyes. He patted Yan Canglan's shoulder gently and said, "You are a responsible child, and I am proud of you. But you must remember that sometimes, for the sake of the longer-term interests, we must make some difficult choices."
Yan Canglan nodded, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes.
In the evening, Yan Canglan brought the raptors to the woods behind the school. He looked at these companions who had accompanied him for many years, and his heart was filled with reluctance. But he knew that this was what he had to do.
"Friends, you are free." Yan Canglan said softly, then gently opened the cage.
The birds of prey hesitated for a moment, then flapped their wings and flew high, disappearing into the sky. Yan Canglan looked at their departing backs, and tears flashed in his eyes.
Master Qu came over, patted Yan Canglan on the shoulder, and said, "You have made the right decision. They will find their own sky."
Yan Canglan nodded, a smile appearing on the corner of his mouth.
Master Qu patted Yan Canglan on the shoulder, his eyes full of anticipation.
He looked at the sky outside the window and said, "Yan Canglan, I believe you can become an eagle in the sky."
Yan Canglan turned to look at Master Qu and said, "Master, I want to realize my dream and go to that sky to have a look."
